Phiyen Le, O.D. optometrist in Newton

Dr. Phiyen H. Le

Dr. Phiyen H. Le was born and raised in Boston, MA. After receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston University, she completed her doctorate at the New England College of Optometry.  She then continued onto a residency program focusing on ocular disease and geriatric optometry at the Edith Nourse Memorial Veterans Hospital. Her training involved both the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, low vision, and dry eyes. She is a proud member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Le feels that it is just as important to get to know the patient as it is to give a thorough eye exam. That is why the schedule is never overbooked, unlike most offices, and each patient has his/her own allotted time. Dr. Le prides in providing individualized and personalized eye care. You can also contact her directly through email if ever there is a question.

Dr. Le has been in private practice since 2009. She now calls the town of Newton her home, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. Dr. Le looks forward to providing eye care to her local community and surrounding towns. She also welcomes all her former patients, whom she have seen for many years in the South Shore and Boston area.

Dr. Vivek Mallampalli

Dr. Mallampalli graduated from UC San Diego and then went on to receive his doctorate from New England College of Optometry in 2019.  Coincidentally, he began his career in the same practices in the North Shore and Randolph, where Dr. Le also worked, before settling in at a private office in Jamaica Plain. He enjoyed being an established provider of care for a diverse community with various needs, including dry eye, multifocal contact lenses, ocular disease management, and more.

Dr. Mallampalli looks forward to being able to provide the same level of care and attention to the community in Newton. He relishes in being able to establish continuity of care with his patients and getting to know their needs on an individual level. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing and playing the guitar.
